There's very few things that are like the feeling of holding your child in your arms. We parents love our kids. To us, they're the most beautiful and amazing kids on the planet, no questions asked. They're ours, and no one can take that away from us.
Sometimes, a good parent will almost feel this sense of urgency, or anxiety as their child is growing up, to document each and every new step. Have you ever experienced this? If you're honest, I'm sure your answer is yes.
You don't want to lose a moment. A good parent wants to savor each and every move and expression that their little one makes. They're beautiful. Their cute little face is just perfect. And the smile they give when a blissful thought passes through their mind, it's second to none. That smile could melt the hardest of hearts, and you know it.
We want to give our kids the best. They deserve our love, devotion and attention. Our hearts as parents is to set our children up for the greatest success that we can possibly afford for them. We work so hard at providing the most opportunities and chances to live out their dreams and become good and upstanding members of our society.
But it can be hard in this day and age to provide well for them. If you're an average Joe, it can be tough to have any sort of major savings building up for those little ones as they grow into adults. And let's be honest, the thought of funding a college education most likely makes your stomach do flip flops and gives you that sinking feeling of doom.
It's okay. There's hope. In fact, there are a lot of great ways to use your child's youth, beauty and downright adorable little ways to earn them a few extra dollars to store up for those college years or other occasions when they'll be needing money in the future.
Some parents have found great success in entering their kids in photo contests and things of the like. For example, Gap does their Gap Baby Contest, and there are many more contests, and more specifically, photo competitions like it. Photo competitions have been around for years of course, but now, there's more than ever. Your chances of actually winning and earning some extra income to supplement your child's life and education are actually not that bad.
Look at it this way, if you find that people are giving "Oooo" and "Ahhhh... she's so adorable!" to the simple photos that you're taking of your kids, then you really ought to consider it. Some children are just naturally photogenic, and there's really nothing wrong with letting them use that cuteness for investing in their future.
But those are just some thoughts and suggestions. You've got a beautiful child, and you have every right to take full advantage of those years and make choices that will help that little one to have a brighter and more secure future. Photo competitions are simply one way that you can make that happen, and possibly see some really great results.
